Heather's Helpful Hint

Planning your Winter Garden
August 10, 2009

Autumn is such a beautiful time of year and our landscape abounds with colorful foliage and fall blooming perennials and grasses. But now is a great time to think about how your home will look in a few weeks, when all the leaves have fallen and colors have faded. Do you have a good foundation of evergreen plants with different colors and textures, or will you be left with only bare branches and past bloom flowers?

The front of your home is particularly important for that "curb appeal" we often talk about, and all the more so as we approach the fall and winter holidays when we entertain friends and family.

Fortunately, this is an ideal time to plant trees and shrubs and we have a great selection of just what you need for your landscape. Fresh product is still arriving weekly so you will find broadleaf evergreens like azaleas, rhododendrons, and laurels in addition to many needleleaf conifers like spruce, pine, and firs which come in shades of yellow, green and blue.

Come in this week and meet with one of our Nursery and Perennial experts who would love to help you add beauty to your home this season.
