Our Favorite Summer Blooms
June 18, 2009

We have three must haves for your summer garden:

Knockout Roses, the most disease and insect resistant roses developed. This shrub rose reaches a size of 3-4 feet high and wide and will not disappoint. Choose from red, pink, and yellow varieties.

Endless Summer Hydrangeas, a series of long and repeat blooming plants with no worry of when to prune. The original Endless Summer is a mop head type which can be pink or blue depending on soil acidity. Blushing Bride is pure white when it opens and fades to a lovely pale pink. The newest Endless Summer is Twist and Shout, a bright pink lace cap hydrangea.

All Summer Beauty is another no worry repeat blooming hydrangea.

Crapemyrtles add color to the summer garden like nothing else. Although it is the last plant to leaf out in the landscape, it is well worth the wait as blossoms appear in June or July and continue through September. Beautiful shades of red, pink, purple, and white are available and plants range in size from 3 feet to 20 feet depending on the variety. Take special care of your crapemyrtles in the fall and you will enjoy this plant year after year.

As always we would love to talk with you about any of these plants. Please stop by our Devon or Exton location, and chat with one of our sales associates.
