Are Your Plants Ready For All Their New Growth?
April 08, 2009

Some flowering trees have already hit their prime and others are just coming into bloom. Many plants, both evergreen and deciduous, have begun to leaf out. They need good nutrients to grow and mature and spring is the right time to fertilize most any hardy plant.

In addition to the growth that occurs because of feeding, the health that results will keep your plants more resistant to disease and insect problems. Just as your healthy body resists disease, your plants will be better equipped to handle the many problems that can occur throughout the growing season.

We have had plenty of precipitation in the last few months, but do not neglect to keep your new plantings adequately watered until they are well established. Please plan to visit Waterloo Gardens frequently for expert help with any of your gardening questions.
